Edit: My tablet is apparently no longer working. I cannot install it on my new laptop, no matter what I try. ;-; I don't like this.
Explaination for my absence
I know many of you have been wondering where I have been and what I have been up to. I've had several questions regarding that matter.
I've had the most horrible art block I have ever experienced. A while ago, around april, I suppose, I started feeling the pressure of finishing art I had promised to other people. This wouldn't have been a problem if I hadn't been stuck on what to do with those paintings, just nothing I tried seemed to work. I have scrapped more versions of those artworks than you would believe. It pretty much killed my creativity, as I'd feel guilty working on other paintings, instead of finishing those, too. I ended up not drawing at all.
On top of that, I bought myself a new laptop (the other one took 15 minutes just to start up the internet, go figure why I needed a new one...). When I tried to install Photoshop CS3 and CS4 - my dad has those on a disk - I realised that both of them just didn't want to work with my computer and in the end I had to delete them from my computer again. I wanted to go back to Photoshop CS, which I was used to having, but apparently my parents had lost the disk it was on. Hence, no digital art for me in quite a while.
That was when I decided to take a break from deviantART and art in general, to do some new things, enjoy my holidays and in the end hopefully come back to art with fresh inspiration and a re-found joy to draw.
I have had the most wonderful summer holidays ever, I must admit. Not because of lack of art, but because of the plain awesomeness of it XD. I have been to England for a few weeks, to visit Thomas, one of the most wonderful people I've ever met. Those weeks were just amazing. I miss him.
Last week, I started university in Utrecht; I study English Language and Literature now. I love the study, but the long travelling time and horrible time table (9:00-10:45 and 17:15-19:00 on Wednesday, anyone?) have been making this a tiring experience so far. However, I can't say I've ever enjoyed school as much as I'm enjoying my time at the uni now.
Yesterday, in the train, I got bored and decided to pick up my pencils again.....and loved it. I dare say it's one of my better works, too. In fact, my hands are itching to pick the pencils up again and it's a wonderful feeling. I have no idea if it will last, but it's nice, nonetheless.
I'm sorry for abandoning you guys

I still think you're wonderful, don't worry :3

All the best,
